The WiredScore certification is a rating system for office properties that provides the necessary transparency and access to important information about the digital infrastructure of a building.
At "The Oval", in addition to the planned redundant data infrastructure, special emphasis was placed on the future viability of the building by providing a mobile radio system for all network operators. This will ensure a comprehensive mobile phone reception from the entrance to the underground car park via the lift to the office, which already meets the upcoming 5G standard. This also lays the foundation for all kinds of smart office applications.
Marc K. Thiel, Chief Transaction Officer of Gerchgroup AG, is pleased and emphasizes: "We are very happy that we have achieved this great certification with our project "The Oval". However, we do not want to rest on our laurels and are also aiming for a gold LEED certification. In addition to the digital component via WiredScore, we will then also cover the requirements of the ecological sustainability parameters that we have set for ourselves and which will become increasingly relevant in the future, thus positioning "The Oval" on the market in an unrestricted, future-proof manner".
The certification procedure with WiredScore was supervised by INOVIS Ingenieure GmbH, the engineering office commissioned by the Gerchgroup. INOVIS is specialised in the realisation and implementation of technical building services for sophisticated, sustainable and energy-efficient buildings.
The modern office property in the prospering Kennedydamm office submarket will be built by the turn of 2021/22. Further talks are already being held with various prospective tenants. The future tenants can expect a digital, sustainable, highly flexible and absolutely timely office building with a rental area of approx. 13,500 m². The Gerchgroup invests approx. 120 million Euro in "The Oval".
The Gerchgroup is a project developer operating nationwide with headquarters in Düsseldorf.
